FAQ //

Wait I thought you lived in Chicago? If we want to get technical here, I’m actually originally from New Jersey but moved to Chicago the very first year that I started blogging. After almost four amazing years in the Windy City we headed west in January 2015 and now call San Francisco home.

What kind of dog is Callie? We tend to call her a Corgi / Jack Russell mix but the reality is, she’s a mutt! I adopted her at 8 weeks old – her and her brothers had been dumped in a cardboard box outside of a high-kill shelter in a low-income, rural area of Georgia. Thanks to an amazing rescue, she ended up in a foster home in New York and I spotted her while innocently browsing PetFinder one afternoon in college! If you’re at all considering getting a dog, I cannot recommend adopting enough – there are so many amazing pets that need homes, Callie is the best dog I could ever ask for and I’m sure your perfect pet is out there too!

Do you blog full-time? Nope! I’ve worked in the ad agency world since college doing digital strategy and marketing. My current role at Collectively blends my work and blogging world and I manage strategy and production of influencer marketing campaigns.

Any advice for starting a blog? Make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons – if making money is your #1 goal right from the beginning, I’m not sure blogging is the right path for you. Be consistent, stay true to your voice and focus on building relationships. For more advice, browse my blogging category.

I’m visiting San Francisco, any recommendations? Tons! You can read about some of them here.

I’m visiting Chicago, any recommendations? First and foremost, make a stop at DoRite Donuts and grab a Cinnamon Crunch donut ;) You can see some other favorites here.

How long have you been blogging? 5 years! Time flies when you’re having fun.

Haven’t I seen your apartment somewhere? My South Loop studio was featured on The Everygirl in 2013 and my Printer’s Row loft was featured on The Glitter Guide in 2014!

What’s your go to red lipstick? NARS Red Lizard, always (and for a budget-friendly buy, try Revlon Really Red)
