girl. scout. cookies.

It’s that time of year again!  The one time where we all welcome solicitation and it’s totally okay to stalk down little girls… it’s Girl Scout cookie season!  And you know what is even more awesome? I was able to sample a brand new flavor that comes out this year, Savannah Smiles.

So now that I can basically add “cookie connoisseur” to my resume, let me tell you a little bit about these lemony bites of joy. Lemon, you ask?  Isn’t that way different than the chocolate goodness that we all know and love with Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs?  Why yes it is.  You see, Savannah Smiles are the Girl Scout cookie that it’s totally okay to have for breakfast or you can class it up and have them with a cup of tea.  They’re pretty much everything good about a lemon filled donut, but in cookie form.  Savannah Smiles are crunch little lemon cookies dusted with powdered sugar – they have a nice burst of lemon flavor and as I walked around my office forcing people to try one, everyone loved them.

Those adorable little Girl Scouts are celebrating 100 years of earning patches and sellin’ cookies and the Savannah Smiles cookie pays tribute to the city which the Girl Scouts were founded.  A big thank you goes out to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County for hooking me up and sending me a box of cookies to test out.  So go ahead and buy a couple of boxes and give ’em a shot.  While you’re at it, get yourself a box of Thin Mints and throw them in the freezer – you’ll thank me later.
