5 Things You Need In Your Gym Bag.

5 Things You Should Always Have in Your Gym Bag.

Has anyone else been hitting the gym a little more lately thanks to New Year’s resolutions? With that quest for betterment comes sweat… a lot of sweat. And to best prepare for time at the gym, you’ve gotta have a well-packed gym bag.

A look at 5 things you need in your gym bag:
5 Things You Should Always Have in Your Gym Bag.

1. First and foremost, more time at the gym means your skin is going to need a little extra attention. Sweat can take a serious toll on your skin! And while you’re likely focused on working out and eating right, what you put on your skin matters a lot. Derma-e has been a long-time favorite of mine because they’re natural skincare that really works, and when it comes to my gym bag, their “detox” line has earned a permanent place. It cleans deep with  marine algae extracts and charcoal to make sure post-workout dirt and oil doesn’t hang around to cause breakouts, but it’s also gentle and doesn’t dry out your face. Don’t risk washing your face with whatever’s at the gym… bring your own amo and make it good!

2. There’s nothing worse than being starving post-workout and cravings and temptations can strike if you don’t have the right snacks on hand. RXBAR has become a new favorite because first of all, they taste great (which I can’t say about many protein bars) and secondly, they’re super transparent with what’s in ’em, and it’s simple. Bonus points for packing 12 g. of protein in each bar to keep you fueled up and satisfied.

3. After sweating it out, especially in the winter, a fresh change of clothes can feel amazing. Keep an extra pair of socks and a top stashed in your gym bag to keep you feeling fresh post-workout, and in case of sock forgetting emergency (I’ve had to buy $12 socks at a spin class and it is the. worst.)

4. While you’re likely to find a stack of fresh towels in most locker rooms, it’s not guaranteed, and you don’t want to be that person to learn this lesson the hard way after showering at the gym. Keep your own towel packed in your bag, plus a pair of shower flip flops so you’re always prepared to soap up.

5. The locker room isn’t exactly the place to do full hair and makeup, but keeping a few simple beauty products in your gym bag can help you quickly freshen up and make the transition from gym to brunch. My favorites? Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (no brush needed!), a transparent pressed powder to fight shine and concealer to hide blemishes and redness.
